Product description
The Glenlivet Distillery began operation in 1824, and exactly 190 years later its whisky dethroned long-time sales leader, Glenfiddich.
In 2014, 12,768,000 bottles of Glenlivet were sold, a 72% increase in five years. The 18-year-old was launched in 1992 and remains a core product today. Around 15% of the spirit comes from fresh Oloroso sherry casks, with the rest coming from bourbon casks and refills. For many, the 18-year-old is the “perfect Glenlivet”, with fruity notes in wonderful harmony with the spice and bitterness of oak.
Nose: rich and complex with a delicate note of sherry, apple blossom, vanilla, toffee, cherries, dried plums, orange peel, dark chocolate, oak and a hint of cinnamon.
Palate: perfectly balanced, oranges, baked apples, crème brûlée, toffee, almonds, cinnamon, nutmeg, oak, traces of sherry and herbs.
Finish: incredibly long, a wonderful harmony of sweetness, oak and spicy tones.
