Product description
The Danish company 1423 World Class Spirits was founded in 2008 by a group of Scotch whisky enthusiasts after they were given a sample of excellent quality rum to try at a whisky festival.
At that time, there was a suspicion that, beyond whisky, there was an incredibly interesting world of rum worth exploring in depth. It all started with a single barrel of Trinidadian rum that hit the market in early 2009. The SBS abbreviation stands for “single barrel select,” which the Danish bottler has specialized in ever since. The number 1423 in the company’s name is the number of the first barrel they bottled. 1423 World Class Spirits quickly gained recognition as a distributor of high-quality rare rums, often offered in cask strength, without caramel coloring.
Compañero Gran Reserva Jamaica-Trinidad rum is a blend of rums distilled in traditional stills in Jamaica and those from rectifying columns in Trinidad. They matured in American bourbon barrels for up to 15 years. In the bouquet of this rum we find accents of sandalwood, tobacco leaves, fried bananas, chocolate, oak, citrus and freshly cut grass.
