Product description
In spring 2019, Balvenie Distillery announced a new whisky series, The Balvenie Stories Collection.
Each of the three editions that make up the series is accompanied by a story related to the history of the distillery and its employees. The A Day of Dark Barley presented here refers to the Balvenie Roasted Malt 14 years old edition from 2006. It is distilled with the so-called chocolate malt used in stout production and aged for over a quarter of a century in first-fill bourbon barrels. The name and presentation of the new edition recalls the arrival of a cargo of said malt in 1992 and the surprise of the employees with the intention to use it in whisky production.
Nose: sweet barley malt, honey, vanilla, brown sugar, toffee, cappuccino, milk chocolate, raisins, candied ginger, notes of mango and oak.
Taste : pleasantly balanced, vanilla, toffee, honeycomb, cocoa, orange jam, cinnamon croissant with butter, notes of ginger and cloves.
Finish : quite long, sweet, with notes of honey, vanilla cream, milk fudge, oak and a touch of spices.
