Centenario began its foray into the spirits market as Seagram of Costa Rica SA in the 1970s. As Seagram's Costa Rican subsidiary, it introduced the first Centenario-branded rum in the 1980s.
It took another two decades for the company to become independent and change its name to Centenario Internacional SA. This happened in 2002 and soon it began exporting Ron Centenario to the USA, Spain, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. Ron Centenario is currently present in over 20 countries and this number is constantly growing. The company is not only involved in the production and export of rum, it also represents a number of producers of other spirits, including gin, cognac, whiskey, wines, vodkas and liqueurs.
Centenario 12 Gran Legado is a blend of molasses-based distillates matured in American bourbon oak barrels for 12 years.
Aroma: Notes of caramel, vanilla, ripe peaches, apricots, a bit of medical notes.
Taste : Sweet but light. Floral notes, vanilla, caramel, exotic fruits, a hint of oak.
Finish: Medium long, notes of oak.
