Product description
Built in 1966 by Invergordon Distillers Ltd, Tamnavulin Distillery is situated on the banks of the famous River Livet. The word Tamnavulin translates from Gaelic to mean "mill on the hill".
Whyte & Mackay took over the plant in 1993 and soon closed it down (Tamnavulin did not distill between 1995 and 2007). It currently uses about 90% of its potential, distilling 3.5 million liters of spirit per year. Its main recipient is Whyte & Mackay blends, only a fraction reaches the market in the single malt version. Tamnavulin Tempranillo Cask Edition debuted in 2018 in the Travel Retail chain. After maturing in barrels made of white American oak, the whisky spent several months in barrels from Tempranillo (red Spanish wine).
