Product description
Based in Alness in the northern Highlands, the Dalmore Distillery, founded by Alexander Matheston, has been producing whisky since 1839.
Since 1960, it has been owned by Whyte & Mackay, whose assets were taken over by Filipino brandy producer Imperador Inc. in 2014. The distillery produces 4 million liters of distillate per year, a large portion of which goes into blends from the Whyte & Mackay portfolio, while the Dalmore single malt exceeded the magic number of one million bottles sold in 2015. The latter usually finishes its maturation in sherry casks, which is why the one presented here deviates slightly from the usual standards. After the basic maturation period spent in American oak casks, the whisky was placed in port casks from the W&J Graham vineyard.
