Product description
Hendrick's gin debuted in 1999 in the William Grant & Sons range.
Distilled at the Girvan distillery, it uses twelve botanicals: juniper, orange and lemon peel, orris root, angelica root, elderberry, cubeb, grains of paradise, yarrow, chamomile, caraway, cucumber and rose petals. It was formulated by master distiller Lesley Gracie with the help of David Stewart, legendary malt master of Glenfiddich and Balvenie. One of Gracie’s latest creations (May 2017) is Orbium. It is based on the basic Hendrick’s formula, enhanced with flavours traditionally associated with gin-based drinks – quinine (an ingredient in tonic water), wormwood (found in vermouth) and blue lotus flower. ‘Orbium’ comes from the word ‘orb’, plural of ‘orbis’, which is Latin for circles. This gin is presented in the brand's characteristic "pharmacy" bottle, this time in the color of a lotus flower.
Orbium is an extraordinary gin, where strong notes of quinine and wormwood balance citrus peel, cucumber and rose petals. We recommend serving it with ice or with Fever Tree Elderflower tonic.
