Product description
Since 2018, Loch Lomond whisky has been the official spirit of the famous golf tournament The Open.
The international promoter of this whisky is Darren Clarke, the winner of this tournament in 2011. The 19-year-old Royal Portrush presented here is the creation of the Loch Lomond Group blender, Michael Henry, and the aforementioned golfer. After distillation in unique Lomond stills, the whisky was aged in American oak barrels and finished in red Bordeaux barrels (known in the UK as Claret). The final maturation is a reference to the cup given to the winner of The Open tournament, commonly known as the "Claret Jug" because its shape resembles the vessel from which this famous wine was served in the 19th century.
