Product description
Gentleman Jack debuted in 1988 and was the first item included in the permanent Jack Daniel's offering since Old No. 7 Brand.
What distinguishes Tennessee Whiskey from bourbon is the filtration of the fresh distillate through a 10-foot layer of maple charcoal; what distinguishes standard Jack from Gentleman Jack is the use of this process both before and after the maturation, immediately before bottling the whiskey. Gentleman Jack was the brainchild of Lincoln Henderson († 2013), a long-time master distiller at Brown-Forman. It was intended to show the gentler side of a shy but very determined man who devoted his entire life to whiskey. Jack Daniel's has been the number 1 American whiskey for years, with sales of 14.4 million cases in 2022.
