Product description
The Mhoba Rum Distillery is located in the Mpumalanga province in eastern South Africa.
It is a small craft distillery that produces 10 different types of rum. Founded in 2015 by Robert Greaves, whose family had been involved in sugar cane cultivation in this part of the African continent since the 1980s. The inspiration to produce rum came during a holiday in Mauritius. For this reason, Mhoba produces agricole rum, as in the former French colony. Mhoba prides itself on the fact that no colourings, flavourings or sugar are added to the rum produced there, and the aroma and taste of the drink are the result of the skills of the person involved in its production and the influence of the barrels used to mature it.
Mhoba Franky's Pineapple Rum is a blend of Glass Cask rum and two high-ester white alembic rums from the Mhoba distillery. Before blending, each is infused with ripe Natal Queen pineapples, both fresh and roasted.
Nose : Pineapple sweetness, roastiness, caramel, smoke, a hint of fresh sugar cane.
Palate : Young wood, grilled pineapple, sponge cake, burnt fruit.
Finish : Medium long, with notes of pineapple and sweet cream.
