Product description
Flying King Rum is a blend of high-ester Jamaican spirits and more delicate, rounded Dominican spirits. These rums are matured in American oak bourbon barrels for 3 years.
The whole thing matured in the tropics. The Transcaribbean line consists of two rums created with the idea of using them in mixology. Both were named after pirate ships that once terrorized the waters of the Caribbean Sea. The Flying King was built for the needs of the British navy as the Elizabeth and Katherine, but in 1719 it was taken over by pirates and command was taken over by a friend of the infamous Edward England, Robert Sample.
Flying King Rum is a blend of distillates from column stills and traditional stills. They were distilled in 2015, blended and bottled in a limited edition in 2019. The rum was not cold filtered in order to preserve the full aromatic and flavor values. In its bouquet we will find ester accents, baked bananas, dried fruit, a bit of licorice and cinnamon.
