Glen Grant Distillery located in the heart of Speyside has been producing whisky since 1840. Currently owned by Gruppo Campari it is equipped with 8 stills all fitted with purifiers to distill light and fruity spirit.
Glen Grant is now (2017) number nine best selling single malt with 3.3 million bottles sold annually. In the summer of 2016 the company revamped presentation of the entire range and launched a couple of new expressions, including 18 years old. The whisky was aged in ex-bourbon barrels and bottled at 43% abv. In his “Whisky Bible 2018” Jim Murray awarded Glen Grant 18 ‘the Scotch whisky of he Year’. The bottle presented here comes with two branded tasting glasses.
Nose: fruity and floral, summer meadow, apples, pears, peaches, limes, vanilla, butterscotch, shortbread, lemon grass, dash of white pepper and touch of mint.
Palate: very fruity, green apples, pears, passion fruit, oranges, honey, vanilla, butter cookies, milk chocolate and toasted oak.
Finish: long and fruity, with notes of vanilla custard, honey, milk chocolate and lingering oakiness.
