Product description
Based on the Isle of Mull, the second largest island in the Inner Hebrides, Tobermory is one of Scotland's most beautifully situated distilleries.
Its name comes from the Gaelic Tobar Mhoire, which translates to “Mary’s Well.” Centuries ago, right next to the settlement of Tobermory, today’s capital of the island (population around 900 souls), there was a well dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. In March 2017, Tobermory suspended distillation due to the replacement of stills and a general renovation of the buildings. The completion of the project two years later coincided with the debut of the Tobermory 12 Year Old presented here, which replaced the 10-year-old version in the basic offer. The whisky was aged in white American oak barrels and bottled without chill filtration at 46.3% abv.
