Product description
Journeyman Distillery was founded in 2010 in Three Oaks, Michigan, as an investment by Bill Welter.
In 2000, Bill traveled to Scotland to study the history of golf and gain a deeper understanding of the sport, but his passion for whiskey soon outstripped his interest in golf. The distillery relies on locally grown grains and is one of a handful of organic and kosher whiskey producers. Journey Not a King is distilled from a mash of 60% organic rye and 40% organic corn. The whiskey honors George Washington, the first American president and distiller, who was hailed by many as king after defeating the English in the Revolutionary War. Washington, a staunch opponent of monarchy, refused the title. In 2018, the whiskey won a gold medal at the Berlin International Spirit Competition.
