Product description
Journeyman Distillery was founded in 2010 in Three Oaks, Michigan, as an investment by Bill Welter.
In 2000, Bill traveled to Scotland to study the history of golf and gain a deeper understanding of the sport, but his passion for whiskey soon outstripped his interest in golf. The distillery relies on locally grown grains and is one of a handful of organic and kosher whiskey producers. Journey WR Whiskey (WR stands for white rye) is distilled from a mash of 60% organic rye and 40% organic wheat and aged for 24 hours in American white oak barrels. The whiskey is dedicated to the “early travelers” while honoring Bill Welter’s father and grandfather.
Aroma : mild, cereal and slightly floral, with a hint of banana and grapefruit.
Taste : soft and slightly sweet, roasted grain, traces of caramel and citrus.
Finish: quite short, with a hint of rye spiciness and a trace of pine needles.
