Product description
Bowmore is the oldest distillery on Islay, having begun distilling whisky in 1779, and is now owned by Morrison Bowmore Distillers Ltd, which in turn is owned by Beam Suntory.
Bowmore single malt is now the third most popular Islay whisky, with annual sales of 2 million bottles, behind Laphroaig and Lagavulin. The Bowmore edition presented here is truly unique, distilled in 1984 and bottled to celebrate the new millennium – the contents of six specially selected casks, which translated into 2,208 bottles of cask strength whisky. In 1984, Bowmore Distillery operated as the property of Morrison Bowmore Distillers, only five years later did the Japanese concern Suntory become its shareholder. (Producer's tasting note.)
The cool aroma of peppermint beautifully complemented by the warming scent of cinnamon.
In the mouth, the sweetness of fruit mixed with notes of sherry and a whiff of peat smoke create an unforgettable flavor combination.
However, it is only by adding a few drops of water that the full complexity of this extraordinary whisky is revealed.
