Product description
The Game of Thrones whisky series is the result of the combined forces of Diageo and HBO Inc., the producer of the series. It consists of eight single malts attributed to the seven houses of Westeros and the Night's Watch.
Baratheon, the youngest of the original Great Houses of Westeros, represents Royal Lochnagar. A similar choice seems very logical, having sat on the Iron Throne, Robert Baratheon deserves a "royal whisky", and such is Royal Lochnagar. Queen Victoria granted it the so-called Royal Warrant after visiting the distillery with Prince Albert in 1848. The whisky used in the House of Baratheon edition was aged in bourbon barrels for 12 years, and the label shows the family's coat of arms, a crowned black stag.
Nose: fresh, fruity, apples, oranges, honeydew melon, lemon zest, vanilla, some damp hay, notes of cinnamon and nutmeg.
Palate: soft, oranges, pineapples, bananas, milk chocolate, vanilla, honey, white pepper, cinnamon and delicate herbal and oak notes.
Finish: medium long, with notes of ripe fruit, vanilla, cinnamon, pepper and toasted oak.
