Product description

Connoisseurs Choice is one of the oldest whisky series in the Gordon & MacPhail portfolio.

It debuted in the mid-1960s, when most Scottish malt distilleries were producing for blenders, not even considering promoting their whiskies as single malts. Today, more than half a century later, Connoisseurs Choice is still a successful competitor in the single malt market and has its devoted fans. The Dailuaine presented here, distilled in 1963, shortly after the installation of a third pair of stills, was aged for almost two decades in sherry and bourbon oak casks, with the former predominating. Until 1983, Dailuaine Distillery malted its own barley.

Aroma : forest floor, honey, vanilla, dried plums and cherries, orange peel, apples, cocoa powder, notes of wax and pine needles.

Palate : soft, dried figs and dates, chocolate-covered cherries, vanilla, honey, toffee, roasted almonds, a pinch of herbal spices and a little oak.

Finish : medium long, with notes of roasted almonds, honey, caramel, dried fruit, dry herbs and oak.
