Product description
Sir Edward’s is a standard blended Scotch whisky from the Group Bardinet portfolio. Bardinet was founded in 1857 by Paul Bardinet, the pioneer of aging rum.
In 1993 Bardinet merged with La Martiniquaise, which currently owns Glen Moray Distillery and Starlaw grain distillery. Little is known about Sir Edward’s Finest formula; we can take educated guess that Glen Moray single malt and Starlaw grain are the key ingredients. The brand main market is not surprisingly France. The ‘smoky’ version of Sir Edward’s blend was added to the range in 2017.
Nose: mildly smoky, sea spray, apples, orange peel, breakfast cereals, honey, vanilla and touch of rubber.
Palate: light, plums, apples, vanilla, powder sugar, honey, hints of leather and distant whiff of smoke.
Finish: not too long, with notes of honey, cotton candy, dash of pepper and fading hints of smoke.
