Speyburn Distillery is beautifully located in the picturesque hills of the Spey Valley. The distillery built in 1897 in less than 20 years was acquired by DCL (Distillers Company Limited).
Since 1991 Speyburn has been owned by Inver House Distillers and after expansion completed in 2015 can produce 4.5 million liters of spirit per annum. Speyburn single malt is very popular in the US, the brand has been among top ten best selling malts for decades. The Bradan Orach expression was introduced in 2009 in the American market. It is young, non-age-statement whisky, aged exclusively in ex-bourbon barrels and named in honor of the topnotch salmon fishing areas on River Spey (Bradan Orach translates from Gaelic to ‘Golden Salmon’). Speyburn Bradan Orach scored silver medal at the 2017 International Wine & Spirits Competition.
