Product description
The Glenfiddich Distillery requires no special introduction, built in 1886 by William Grant and equipped with second-hand distilling equipment from the Cardhu Distillery, it remains in the hands of the founding family to this day.
The plant is currently undergoing expansion (completion planned for the end of 2019), which will increase its production capacity to 20 million liters of distillate per year. Glenfiddich has led the single malt whisky sales statistics for years (only in 2014 did it beat Glenlivet), in 2017 15.6 million bottles of this whisky were sold. Glenfiddich single malt is present in every price segment, the plant offers both inexpensive editions bottled without age specification, as well as strictly limited editions containing old and rare whiskies. The latter includes the Glenfiddich 1977 presented here, whisky aged for 39 years in a single barrel (no. 22742) and bottled in 2017 in the cask strength version (44.9% abv) in the super prestigious Rare Collection series. The edition consisted of 166 bottles.
