Product description
Pickering's Gin, the creation of two friends and business partners, Matt Gammell and Marcus Pickering, debuted in 2013.
It is produced at Summerhall Distillery in Edinburgh, the first gin distillery to open in the city for over 150 years. The distillery is housed in a former veterinary hospital belonging to the University of Edinburgh's Veterinary School. Pickering's Gin is based on a 1947 formula given to Marcus by a friend of his father, containing nine botanicals: juniper berries, coriander, cardamom, angelica root, fennel, anise, cloves, lemon and lime. These are macerated in grain alcohol for 24 hours and then distilled in a copper still. In 2018, Pickering's Gin won a double gold medal at the World Spirit Awards.
Pickering's is a classic in the "dry gin" category, in which fresh notes of juniper and pine needles are beautifully interwoven with cardamom, coriander and anise and a touch of citrus. We recommend serving it with a classic Schweppes tonic with a slice of pink grapefruit and lime.
