Product description
Torres is currently the sixth most popular brandy in the world with annual sales of 1.1 million cases (2022).
The word “brandy” comes from the Dutch language and means “burnt wine.” In the 16th century, Dutch merchants distilled wine and transported it in barrels. The Familia Torres Company was founded in 1928 by Juan Torres Casals, while Bodega Torres has been operating since 1870. Juan began producing brandy from white wines from the Penedés region in Catalonia, distilling and maturing them in oak barrels. Torres Superior Brandy Hors D'Age is made from Parellada and Ugni Blanc grapes and aged for 20 years in the solera system. It is also the most awarded version of Torres brandy, having been named the best brandy in its category in 1997, 2006, and 2019.
