Grant's Rum Cask Finish / 40% / 0.7l

In the summer of 2018, Wm Grant & Sons completely changed the core offering of its Grant's blended whisky.

The decades-old staple Grant's Family Reserve has been renamed Grant's Triple Wood (the whisky formula remains unchanged), and Grant's Rum Cask Finish, Grant's 8 Year Old Sherry Cask Finish and Grant's Triple Wood Smoky have joined the lineup. Bottled without an age statement, Grant's Rum Cask Finish is Grant's standard-issue, which has been maturing in Caribbean rum casks for the past six months. Grant's is now the third best-selling Scotch whisky (4.5 million cases), behind Johnnie Walker and Ballantine's. (Producer's tasting note.)  

Aroma: malty and fruity, vanilla, toffee, golden syrup, oranges, apricots, a bit of coconut milk and white chocolate.  

Taste: sweet, vanilla, caramel, buttered popcorn, bananas, apricots, oranges, honey, pralines and a hint of sweet spices.  

Finish: medium long, with notes of tropical fruits, brown sugar, vanilla and oak.
