Product description
In the summer of 2018, Wm Grant & Sons completely changed the core offering of its Grant's blended whisky.
The basic Grant's Family Reserve, which has been around for decades, has been renamed Grant's Triple Wood (the whisky formula has not changed), and Grant's Rum Cask Finish, Grant's 8 Year Old Sherry Cask Finish and Grant's Triple Wood Smoky have joined the lineup. The latter contains a higher proportion of smoky and peaty whisky, and is aged, like the standard Triple Wood, in three types of casks - virgin oak, American oak and refill bourbon casks. Grant's is now the third best-selling Scotch whisky (4.5 million cases), behind Johnnie Walker and Ballantine's. (Producer's tasting note.)
Aroma: pronounced smoky notes precede subtle aromas of fruit, malt and roasted almonds.
Taste: Initial smoky notes are slowly replaced by soft, fruity sweetness and a hint of citrus.
Finish: returning mild smoke hiding delicate notes of oak tannins.
