Shortly after his death in 1917, the company fell into financial trouble and was taken over by the H. Corby Distillery Co. Today, J.P. Wiser's is produced by Pernod Ricard's Corby Distillers at the Hiram Walker Distillery in Windsor, Ontario. J.P. Wiser's Rye is a blended whisky made from 60% rye (distilled both in the column and in the pot still) and the remaining 40% corn and wheat.
