Product description
Big Peat is a blended malt whisky brand from Douglas Laing & Company. It debuted in 2009 and within a few years gained a large group of supporters.
Its formula lists four key ingredients: Ardbeg, Caol Ila, Bowmore and Port Ellen, offering “the essence of Islay in one bottle.” Fred Laing adds that “Big Peat also contains the secrets of its creator, which even after a few toasts, it will not reveal.” The Vienna Edition presented here is a May 2018 offering, a small-batch whisky bottled with natural colour and without chill filtration, with a natural ABV of 55.1%. This time, the label shows the brand’s well-known, bearded ambassador with the indispensable Big Peat bottle, posing in front of the Vienna City Hall. The edition consisted of 600 bottles and was intended exclusively for the Austrian market.
