Batavia Arrack is a spirit produced exclusively on the island of Java in Indonesia, commonly known as "Indonesian rum".
It is made from cane molasses with the addition of local red rice - which distinguishes it from traditional rums. It is distilled in traditional pot stills. The name Batavia Arrack comes from the historical name of the Indonesian capital, Jakarta (Batavia) and the Arabic word "arrack", meaning distillate. By the Dutch is a brand of distilled spirits associated with areas that were once Dutch colonies or in other ways historically associated with Dutch merchants.
By the Dutch Batavia Arrack spent up to 8 years in oak barrels on the island of Java in Indonesia. Blended and bottled in Amsterdam. In its bouquet we will find accents of citrus, dark chocolate, oak and spices.
