Product description
Minor Case Rye debuted in February 2017 in the Limestone Branch Distillery offering.
This whiskey is a nod to Minor Case Beam, Jacob's cousin, whose distilling career was interrupted by Prohibition (Minor Case Beam died shortly after it was repealed). The patron's specialty was, of course, rye whiskey. Minor Case's heirs returned to whiskey production only in 2010, when Steve and Paul Beam registered Limestone Branch Distillery. Minor Case Rye is distilled at the MGP distillery in Indiana, where it also undergoes a two-year maturation in American oak barrels. The whiskey is subjected to final aging in sherry barrels, which takes place in Kentucky and lasts from several weeks to eight months.
Nose : soft, summer meadow, red currants, cherries, toffee, vanilla, caramel, orange peel and spicy notes of rye.
Taste: slightly alcoholic, red berries, raisins, milk chocolate, cinnamon, white pepper, traces of tobacco and leather.
Finish: medium long, with notes of dried fruit, vanilla, caramel and pepper.
