Product description
The Glen Elgin Distillery, built in 1898, is located in the heart of Speyside and is now owned by Diageo.
Modernisation in 2012 increased its production capacity to 2.7 million litres of alcohol per year, the vast majority of which is used to blend, particularly White Horse. In 2017, the company included Glen Elgin in its prestigious annual Special Releases. The whisky was distilled in 1998 using several batches of yeast used to produce beer from malted millet and aged in first-fill and refill sherry casks for 18 years. Like all whiskies in the series, Glen Elgin was bottled at cask strength (54.8% abv) and without chill filtration.
