Product description
Early Times is a distillery based in Louisville, Kentucky currently owned by Brown-Forman.
The local bourbon enjoyed success in the US market until 1983, when it was replaced by Early Times Kentucky Whiskey, distilled to the same formula – 79% corn, 11% rye, and 10% malted barley, but aged in both new and refill barrels, which is excluded by the definition of straight bourbon. The Old Reserve Kentucky Bourbon Whiskey presented here is similar. It is made from distillates aged in first and refill barrels and is intended exclusively for export.
Nose : quite light, vanilla, caramel, cornflakes, black pepper, cherries, traces of leather and oak.
Palate: sweet and spicy, caramel, vanilla, milk chocolate, pepper, nutmeg, a pinch of cinnamon and some oak in the background.
Finish : not too long, with notes of caramel, vanilla, grilled corn with butter, pepper and oak.
