Jura The Sound / 42.5% / 1.0l

In April 2018, Jura Distillery added the Sherry Cask Collection to its Travel Retail offering. It consists of four whiskies named after key locations on the island.

All of them were aged in ex-bourbon casks and finished in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks. The Sound of Jura is the strait separating Jura from Knapdale on the mainland to the east. To the north, it joins the Corryvreckan Bay, where there is a famous whirlpool commemorated in the Ardbeg edition. Jura the Sound is a whisky aged in ex-bourbon casks and finished in casks that had held Pedro Ximénez sherry for 15 years.

Nose : light malt, vanilla, caramel, toffee, hazelnut, orange, banana, milk chocolate and a touch of allspice.

Taste : smooth, caramel, milk chocolate, mixed fruit, apples, blackberries, hay and nutmeg.

Finish: medium long, with notes of caramel, toffee, mixed berry jam, nutmeg and oak.
