In April 2018 Jura Distillery released the Sherry Cask Collection exclusively for Travel Retail. The range consist of four expressions named after features of the Isle of Jura.
All four have been matured in white American oak casks and finished in Pedro Ximénez casks. Market Loch sits 1000ft above sea level and is the water source for the Jura Distillery. It is also used for fishing. The namesake whisky was aged in ex-bourbon barrels and finished in casks, which held Pedro Ximénez sherry for 30 years. The sales of Jura brand grew tremendously in the new Century, from around 300,000 bottles to 2 million.
Nose: smooth, vanilla, caramel, sultanas, cappuccino, milk chocolate, apples, grapes, white pepper, lemon grass and touch of oak.
Palate: rich, caramel, toffee, vanilla, baked apples sprinkled with cinnamon, candied orange and lemon peel, raisins and faint hint of smoke.
Finish: medium long, with notes of caramel, honey, raisins, pepper, nutmeg and hints of sherried oak.
