Big Peat is a remarkable marriage of single malt whiskies sourced from the Islay distilleries.
The brand was launched by Douglas Laing & Co. in 2009 and according to Fred Laing represents ‘all that is Islay in one bottle’. The Big Peat formula includes four main components, each making certain contribution: Caol Ila adds sweetness, Ardbeg medicinal and earthy quality, Bowmore perfect balance and Port Ellen elegance. Fred Laing loves to add that ‘there are a couple of blender’s secrets in Big Peat’, which won’t be revealed. The whisky is bottled at 46% abv and without chill-filtration. Since its launch Big Peat scored several prestigious awards in blended malt whisky category.
