Product description
In 2008, Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy sold the Glen Moray Distillery to the French company La Martiniquaise.
The latter is the owner of Label 5, one of the ten most popular Scottish blends, whose key malt is Glen Moray. However, La Martiniquaise quickly saw the potential of single malt editions and invested heavily in building the offer and promoting the brand. The Elgin Classic series debuted in 2014 and includes young whiskies aged and finished in different types of wood, bottled without an age statement and offered at a competitive price. The Sherry Cask Finish presented here joined it in 2016; the whisky spent the last eight months in Oloroso sherry casks.
Aroma: mild, vanilla, milk chocolate, toffee, raisins, dried apricots, walnuts, cinnamon, traces of hay and ginger.
Palate: light, apples, apricots, vanilla, toffee, caramel, milk fudge, cinnamon, lemongrass and a hint of oak.
Finish: medium long, toffee, vanilla, milk chocolate, licorice and cinnamon.
