Product description
In recent years we have had the opportunity to follow the evolution of Jack Daniel's rye whiskey.
The 2012 edition of “Unaged Rye” caused a lot of discussion and some (in our opinion unfair) criticism, we called it “the start”; 2014 brought “Rested Rye”, in our language “the halfway point”; finally, in 2016 we reached the “finish line”, i.e. we welcomed the target product. The critics fell silent at the halfway point, and Jack Daniel's lovers appreciate the opportunity to evaluate their favorite whiskey from “start to finish”. Let us recall that Jack Daniel's Rye is distilled from a mash containing 70% rye, 18% corn and 12% barley malt and subjected to the charcoal mellowing process, and the one presented here spent about 4 years in charred barrels made of white American oak. In the first year of distribution, 8 thousand cases hit the market.
Aroma: slightly nutty, roasted grain, caramel, milk chocolate, a hint of marzipan, pepper, traces of allspice and oak.
Palate: toasted rye bread, walnuts, caramel, breakfast cereals, licorice, cinnamon, pepper and subtle notes of charred oak.
Finish : medium long, with notes of pepper, dried fruit, walnuts and oak.
