Product description
Mackillop's Choice is a range of whiskies, usually bottled in single cask form, from the portfolio of Iain Mackillop & Co, a subsidiary of Angus Dundee Distillers, founded in 1996.
The casks are selected by Lorne Mackillop, heir to the Mackillop clan, which was decimated in the Jacobite rebellion. Lorne holds the title of Master of Wine and was the youngest person to be awarded this prestigious distinction. The Scapa presented here is from cask no. 1211, filled on 11th March 1991. The whisky was bottled at cask strength (57.1% abv) and unchill-filtered in March 2013. The Scapa Distillery is based in Orkney and produces just over a million litres of spirit per year.

Taste: lots of fruit, apples, pears, gooseberries, quince jelly, vanilla, some honey, licorice, pepper, ginger and oak notes in the background.
Finish: medium long, slightly nutty, with notes of vanilla, brown sugar, pepper and oak.
