Bunnahabhain Stiùireadair / 46.3% / 0.7l
- Under the ownership of Distell Group all Burn Stewart distilleries – Deanston, Tobermory and Bunnahabhain – greatly upgraded their product range.
Product description
Distell Group, which took over Burn Stewart’s distilleries of Deanston, Tobermory and Bunnahabhain in 2013, has significantly enhanced their commercial offering.
The whiskies are bottled without chill filtration and with the alcohol content raised to 46.3%. Stiùiredair is Bunnahabhain's latest offering (summer 2017). It is a young whisky distilled from malted barley without peat, aged in first and second fill sherry casks and bottled without an age statement. It is said to be partly intended to replace the 12 year old version, the supply of which is dwindling due to the lack of aged distillates. Stiùiredair means "helmsman" in Gaelic, which is Bunnahabhain's trademark.
