Product description
Fèis Ìle (Islay Festival of Whisky and Music) is an annual event organised by the islanders since 1986. It promotes Islay, its culture and historical heritage.
Each of the local distilleries takes an active part in the event, always honouring it with a limited edition (or editions) of whisky. One of Bowmore Distillery’s offerings for the 2013 festival was the 1998 Vintage, a whisky aged in first-fill bourbon barrels and bottled at 51% abv. Only 300 bottles were ever filled, and today they have huge collector value.
Aroma: fresh, fruity and smoky, apples, gooseberries, greengages, lemon and orange peel, breakfast cereals, vanilla, honey, notes of tobacco and peat smoke.
Taste: a wonderful combination of honey, vanilla, caramel and peat smoke, oranges, grapefruits, pepper, cloves, a pinch of salt and a perfectly integrated oak bitterness.
Finish: long and rich, with notes of bitter orange, grapefruit, vanilla, pepper, lemongrass, subtle bitterness of oak and peat smoke.
