Product description
The word "brandy" comes from Dutch and means "burnt wine".
In the 16th century, Dutch merchants distilled wine and transported it in barrels. The Familia Torres Company was founded in 1928 by Juan Torres Casals, while Bodega Torres has been operating since 1870. Juan began producing brandy from white wines from the Penedés region in Catalonia, distilling them and then aging them in oak barrels. Torres Reserva Privada Imperial Brandy 15 years old debuted in 2013, blended with the intention of using it in cocktails. Over the next decade, it won numerous prestigious awards, including a gold medal from the 2020 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. Torres is currently the sixth most popular brandy in the world, with annual sales of 1.1 million cases (2022).
