Donegal Estates Irish Whiskey / 40% / 0.75l
- Donegal Estates is rather obscured Irish whiskey brand. We believe that the whiskey is named after county Donegal in the province of Ulster and one-time seat of the O’Donnell clan who ruled Ulster for hundreds of years.
Product description
Donegal Estates is a somewhat mysterious brand of Irish whiskey. We think its name refers to County Donegal, in Ulster, home of the O'Donnell clan, who ruled the area for centuries.
The northernmost part of the county is famous for producing top-quality poitín (the local name for moonshine). Donegal Estates whiskey is owned by Star Industries, a New York-based company about which we know just as little. Donegal Estates is a standard blend of single malt and grain whiskey from the Cooley Distillery. The components have been aged for an average of four years.
