Glen Ord Distillery is located in Muir of Ord in Northern Highlands. It was founded in 1838 by Thomas Mackenzie and in 1923 sold to John Dewar & Sons.

The 12 years old expression was very popular in the 1990s, it scored gold medal at the 1994 International Wine & Spirits Competition.
