Product description
Dallas Dhu Distillery was established in 1898 (the first distillation took place a year later) and ceased operations in 1983 due to the collapse of the Scotch whisky market.
It was a small distillery (production capacity of 750 thousand liters of distillate per year) that had no chance of surviving the huge crisis in the industry. A few years after the distillation ended, the property became the property of Historic Scotland, a society operating under the patronage of the Scottish government, which opened the Whisky Museum there. Dallas Dhu did not live to see an official single malt edition, the only "semi-official" ones hit the market in 1995 and 1997 in the Rare Malts series. The Dallas Dhu 20 years old presented here is a rare rarity from the late 80s, coming from an edition bottled for the legendary Italian importer, the Sestante company.
