Virgin Gorda British Caribbean Rum / 40% / 0.7l

Virgin Gorda is the name of one of the British Virgin Islands. It owes its name – the Fat Virgin – to its outline, resembling a lying obese woman.

Or at least that was the association of Christopher Columbus, who named the island that way in 1493, during his second voyage to America. Virgin Gorda Rum is a blend of distillates from Trinidad, Barbados and Jamaica, made with sugar cane molasses and matured in oak barrels from American bourbon for an average of 7 years. According to the producer, 20% of the rum is distillates aged for 8 years. The rum is bottled in Great Britain. No colorings or flavorings are added to it.

Aroma: Dried tropical fruits, caramel, fresh passion fruit, spices.

Palate: Esters and spices, notes of dried apricots, apples, bananas, honey, vanilla, pepper and cinnamon.

Finish: Long, notes of pepper and tropical fruits.
