Product description
AnCnoc Stack debuted on September 24, 2016 during the Whisky Live festival in Paris.
It was the seventh offering in the popular Peaty Collection, which consisted of Peatlands, Tushkar, Rutter, Flaughter, Cutter and Rascan. While previous editions bore the names of traditional tools used to extract peat, Stack refers to the final phase, i.e. stacking the peat cubes into mounds that allow them to dry. The whisky used in this edition was distilled from barley malt with a phenol concentration of 20 ppm and aged in bourbon barrels for at least 10 years. It consisted of 6,000 bottles and was available only in Europe.
Nose: sweet and smoky, with notes of forest floor, barley malt, vanilla, caramel and honey, some orange and lemon, and hay.
Palate: peaty and slightly earthy, a hint of brine, green apples, candied lemon peel, honey, vanilla, biscuits, herbal tea and a hint of oak.
Finish: not too long and quite spicy, pepper, ginger and a bit of vanilla.
