Glengarry Highland Single Malt / 40% / 0.7l
- Glengarry is the entry-level whisky brand from Loch Lomond Distillery portfolio.
Product description
Glengarry is one of a dozen brands in the Loch Lomond Distillery portfolio. Its name refers to the Scottish forage cap (Glengarry Bonnet) typically worn by Scottish soldiers, especially members of military bands.
It usually has a checkerboard rim, and often has a unit badge and a feather in the unit's colour attached to the side. Glengarry single malt was launched in the US in 2015. The whisky is aged in white American oak barrels, mainly second and third fill, and bottled without an age statement. It won a silver medal at the 2016 International Wine & Spirit Competition. Two years later, Loch Lomond Group was bought by Hong Kong-based Hillhouse Capital Group for around £400m.
