Product description
Tomatin Distillery began production in 1897 with a single pair of stills.
From the late 1950s to the mid-1970s, the distillery grew to 23, making it Scotland’s largest malt distillery until it went bankrupt in 1985. Today, Tomatin is a mid-sized distillery with 12 stills, owned by Japanese company Takara Shuzo. Tomatin 18 years old debuted in 2006 and was presented differently exactly 10 years later. The whisky undergoes a basic maturation in bourbon casks, then is finished for over two years in Oloroso sherry casks. In 2014, Tomatin 18 years old won a gold medal at the International Wine & Spirits Competition.
