The Links series debuted in 2003 and remained in the offer for the next several years.
The labels, as well as the metal case, featured Graham W. Baxter’s illustrations of famous golf courses. The fifth edition featured the Royal Liverpool-Hoylake Golf Course in Wirral, England. The whiskies used in this edition were aged for 14 years and finished in casks from Rivesaltes sweet fortified wine, made from the red Grenache grape in Roussillon. Royal Liverpool-Hoylake was released in 2006 in a run of 12,000 bottles.
Aroma: fresh, fruity, rose petals, grapes, cherries, oranges, barn with hay, vanilla, buns, a hint of cinnamon and mint.
Palate: sweet and malty, milk fudge, vanilla cream, raisins, raspberries, milk chocolate, candied lemon peel, a pinch of pepper and a trace of oak.
Finish: medium long, fruity, with a delicate nutty note, milk fudge, raisins and a pinch of salt.
