The history of Mohan Meakin, an Indian producer of rum, whiskey, brandy and beer, began in 1855.
When British entrepreneur Edward Dyer founded the brewery in Kasauli, in the northern part of the country. The company currently has 3 distilleries and 2 breweries. The Old Monk brand debuted in 1954. It currently sells around 4 million cartons of rum domestically and internationally.
Rum Old Monk 7 years old is a rum made from molasses and aged in American oak barrels. Intended exclusively for the German market, this rum is classified as a so-called dark rum due to the addition of coloring caramel.
Aroma : Molasses, dried plums, cherries, caramel.
Palate: Notes of molasses, some fruit, coffee, caramel, vanilla.
Finish : Medium long, with notes of coffee and caramel.
