Crown Royal Whisky debuted in 1939. It was a luxury blend , the creation of Samuel Bronfman, owner of the Seagram concern, created on the occasion of the visit to Canada of King George VI and his daughter, the future Queen Elizabeth II.
Crown Royal is currently the best-selling Canadian whisky with over 5.5 million cases sold annually. In recent years, the brand's owner, Diageo, has expanded it significantly, including both luxury editions, such as XR and Cornerstone Blend, as well as rye whiskies (Northern Harvest Rye) and flavored whiskies (Maple and Regal Apple). Crown Royal Regal Apple debuted in late 2014. It is a standard Crown Royal blend with the addition of apple "flavor" and bottled with the alcohol content reduced to 35%.
Aroma : apples, apple juice, apple drops, traces of oak, vanilla and coconut flakes.
Taste : sweet, slightly alcoholic, lots of apples (in various shapes and forms), traces of cinnamon and cloves, brown sugar and oak.
Finish : medium long, apples, brown sugar and a pinch of spice.
